Abdulaziz Baras has contributed in strategizing and executing the development of solar energy sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This includes: manufacturing, renewable resources assessment, energy mix, dust mitigation, solar standards, solar value chain, solar research facilities.
o Abdulaziz is a founding and first graduating class of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), where he earned a Master of Science degree in Material Science and Engineering in 2011.
In 2018, he joined the Industrial Clusters Program as a senior manager in the renewable cluster, to develop and promote the solar industry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Prior to that he was the deputy director of renewable technology localization and commercialization program at King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (K.A.CARE).
o Abdulaziz was selected as one of the top 10 solar pioneers in MENA region in 2014. He got several awards including the best paper award in SASG 2016, Jeddah Saudi Arabia.
o His dream is to contribute for the world to live in green and growing environment.
