Tiago Alves is active in the innovations and entrepreneurship scene through different board & advisory roles, including as CEO of SUNEW. Tiago is also Managing Partner and Member of the Board at FIR Capital, where he leads the New Ventures team.
SUNEW leads the way on the next generation and truly green photovoltaic technologies (Organic PV or OPV), being the most successful spin-off company of CSEM Brasil, where Tiago also acts as Director. CSEM Brasil is an independent innovation and R&D company founded by CSEM of Switzerland and FIR Capital.
Tiago has held leadership positions in start-ups and in leading multinationals such as IBM, BellSouth and ARM, global leader in semiconductor intellectual property. He worked internationally doing business in Europe, Middle East, USA and Asia. As a Management Consultant, he worked with Marakon Associates in London with some of the world's best-known and successful companies in a range of sectors.
Tiago completed his MBA (First Honors) at the University of Cambridge as a recipient of the prestigious Chevening Scholarship. He holds a Masters degree in Marketing and a BSc degree in Electronics Engineering/Physics. At the Harvard Business School, IMD Switzerland and at UC Berkeley, Tiago completed programs on Leadership, Corporate Governance, International Business and Innovations Management.
